Skin to be investigated with major funding for Human Functional Genomics Initiative
August 2024
The UKRI has announced major funding for four research clusters to focus on technology development and research into genomic variation in a range of disease areas. The 'Edinburgh Molecular Mechanisms Cluster' has been awarded more than £5 million to assess the effects of different perturbations on tissues from the human body - including skin. We will use single nuclear transcriptomic analysis to investigate molecular genetic effects of stimuli including infection, inflammation and corticosteroid treatment. Results will be made available for the wider scientific community. Read the full story here.
